WM Motor was looking to develop and produce a third SUV after the EX5 and EX6, integrating the latest in smart tech and self-driving technologies while continuing to expand their lineup. As the lead designer developing the exterior design for production, I spent over six months in 2018 working in WM motor’s R&D center in Chengdu, China. I collaborated with cross-functional teams of engineers, digital modelers, product managers, and manufacturing suppliers for each and every component of the exterior to solve potential manufacturing issues while keeping all stakeholders and executive leadership of both Icona and WM Motor aligned on the original selected design vision.
