During my time at Fisher-Price, I had the opportunity to design and build playsets and accessories with the Imaginext team.
For each project, I handbuilt and painted 1:1 scale foam models to showcase my design and planned functional features for leadership buy-in and approval. Being mindful not only of cost and manufacturability, but also of the play patterns for young children interacting with the set was integral to a successful design.
Both of these Imaginext sets, the Rescue City Center the Monsters University Scare Factory, were the flagship sets for their respective product lines; they would be purchased as a base on which all subsequent accessories in the line could interact with. The fire truck that came with the Rescue City Center as well as the CDA van for the Scare Factory both fell under my scope of responsibility for these projects.
